10 years ago, Tom Peters, an avid pilot and engineer, and his wife Jan set their sights on Fort Collins with the ambition of opening a flying school, but like any adventure there’s always a little turbulence. When details of purchasing the airplane hanger folded, Tom and Jan stumbled on a passion they didn’t even know they had; craft beer. Down a little road named Lincoln Ave. laid a small brewery that needed a touch of love, engineering and direction and that’s exactly what the Peters gave it, a true identity to The Fort Collins Brewery.
Fast forward to building a new 30,000 square foot facility, incorporating a full service tavern, expanding into 23 states and upgrading to a 50 bbl Rolec Automated System. The once shaking, quaint brewery has grown into its own shoes, standing tall at 1020 Lincoln Ave.
After a decade of growth and success there comes a point where all pilots must pass down their wings. In FCB’s case it is bittersweet too see the Peters daughter, Tina take hold of the yoke. Growing up in the craft beer industry, Tina successfully ran FCB’s original tap room and full service tavern while delicately incorporating beer and food as its influential mantra In the past year, Tina has taken her role as general manager of FCB in the same poise and success as seen in the tavern. Steering FCB’s milestone year, Tina has spent significant time updating beer recipes, creating the award winning Malt Monster series, digging immensely into the community and growing the FCB team.
As the wings may shift, the direction remains the same; to deliver hand crafted, high quality brews that get consumers excited to be apart of the FCB team. With goals of launching a CornerStone program, adding a barrel aged lineup, increasing seasonals, expanding community development and continuing collaborations, FCB is on an exciting track and we’re asking you to fly with us!
